Our Do-It-Yourself Macau Experience

There was a seat sale in Cebu Pacific for International destinations and I thought that it's a good deal so I booked a trip for two to Macau.  We were both excited since it was our first ever out of the country trip as a couple.

We enjoyed the spectacular city views in an early evening flight of Friday 20th May 2011 from Clark Intrenational Airport to Macau. After two hours flight we arrived in Macau International Airport, we stayed at Best Western Hotel in Taipa for 2nights and 2 days.

Our Do-It-Yourself Macau experience might not be that worth it, as we haven't seen as many attractions as we want because it was rainy during our second day but still we enjoyed our stay. We've came up with this DIY itinerary.

May 20, 2011 6:30pm to 8:30pm - Arrival in Macau.
8:30pm to 9pm - Check in at Best Western Hotel Taipa, Macau.
9pm to 10pm - Dinner and Tour in Taipa Village.
10pm onwards - Rest & Sleep.

8am to 9am - Breakfast at Best Western Hotel.
9am to 10am - Take a cab to Senado Square (15 minutes).
10am to 12pm - Tour and Eat in Senado Square.
1pm to 2 pm - Visit Museo de Macau and Fortaleza do Monte.
2pm to 3pm - Visit Ruins of St. Paul and St. Dominc's Church.
5pm to 8pm - Tour in City of Dreams and Venetian Hotel (15-20 minutes walk from Best Western Hotel).

DAY 2: May 22, 2011

7am to 8am - Rise and Shine! Breakfast time.
9am to 11am - Shop souvenirs at the Red Market.
11am to 12pm - Lunch at the restaurant (forgot the name, just near the Red Market).
1pm to 3pm - Spend the rest of the time at the hotel since it's  rainy outside.
4pm to 5pm - Late check out then take a cab for 20 minutes to Macau International Airport.

We're supposed to be on board at 8pm unfortunately the flight was delayed for more than two hours due to bad weather. We boarded the plane for Philippines at exactly 11pm and arrived home safely at 1am.
Few Tips:

If you want to spend less for your overseas travels, book a ticket as early as you can. Keep an eye on airline promos and look for affordable accommodations beforehand. Finding cheap flights nowadays is no longer that hard, as local airlines typically offer low rates as a baseline price as long as there are still available seats. Also, plan your itinerary ahead of time so you can maximize your trip.
